Bettie Jo Adams, 75, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2006, in Galveston, Texas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bert Bagley officiating.

Visitation will be held at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas, on Thursday evening and Friday morning, followed by graveside services at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas, on Friday, October 27, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.

Bettie was born April 12, 1931, in Pollok, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Lee Segrest, and son, Donald Ray Hicks.

She is survived by her husband, Elton Adams; son, Tommy Hicks; sisters, Jo Ann Wilson and Anita Jean Gauldock; brothers, Richard Carroll Segrest, Sonny Ray Segrest, and Robert Adams; uncle, Omie R. Callaway and wife, Gertrude; and numerous nieces and nephews.
