Oscar V. Achilli, 56, of 763 15 St. will be buried at Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown on Monday after services at 8:45 a.m. at the M.J. Colucci and Son Funeral Chapel and at St. Mary of the Cataract Church at 9:15 a.m. He died Thursday in Memorial Medical Center. Among survivors are six grandchildren.


35-year Ford dealership employee

Oscar V. Achilli, 56, of 763 15th St., an employee of Ford Motor Co. dealerships in the Niagara Falls area for 35 years and the winner of many achievement awards, died Thursday (April 11, 1985) in Niagara Falls Memorial medical Center.

A native of Niagara falls, he attended local schools and had worked for the former Duncan Motors, Frontier Ford, Whitworth Motors and Art Ponzi's Lincoln-Mercury.

At the tine of his death he was service coordinator at John Gambino Ford in Lockport and John Gambino Rainbow Ford in Niagara Falls.

Achilli was vice president and past president of the Ford Parts and Service Managers Club of the Buffalo District and was a national member of the Service Advisory Committee for Ford in the Buffalo area.

He was a recipient of the Manager Medallion for service excellence many times and was the first recipient of the Don Gibson Manager of the Year award presented for achievement in the industry.

Marvin Brewer, service manager at John Gambino Ford who knew Achilli for many years, called him "a service manager extraordinaire."

"I worked with him from 1970 to 1985 and without question he knew more about the service parts business than any else." Brewer said.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patricia (Hawkes) Achilli; daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Judith) Grizanti of Maryland and Mrs. James (Suzanne) Saunders, Mrs. John (Kathy) Wrobel, Mrs. Dominic (Wendy) Colucci and Lisa Achilli of Niagara Falls; a son, Kerry Achilli of Niagara Falls; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Umberto (Mary) Achilli of Niagara Falls; a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Olga) Lauzau of Haw River, N.C.; a brother, Orlando Achilli of Petaluma, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the M.J. Colucci and Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.

Services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel and at 9:15 a.m. at St. Mary of the Cataract Roman Catholic Church, 259 Fourth St.

Burial will be at a place to be announced, Contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Niagara Oncology Association are acceptable as tribute.
