Alice Rose Over was born December 1, 1860, in Whiteside County, Illinois. Departed this life May 1, 1917, in Navasota, Texas, age 56 years and 5 months.
She was united in marriage August 28, 1881, to H W Farnsworth.
At about the age of nine, her parents left Illinois and went to Kansas, and from there, moved to Iowa. When she was twenty-one years of age she was married and lived there until 1906, when the family moved to near Tryon, Oklahoma, which has since been her home.
She was the mother of nine children, two of which have preceded her to The Great Beyond. Her second daughter died at the age of one and one-half years. Her third daughter, Mrs Grace Adams, died in 1914, at the age of 28. The remaining children are: Mrs Nellie Whitaker, Mrs Mary Lewis, Howard, Elvin, Iris, Lottie, and Lester. These, with Mrs Farnsworth, her husband, seven grandchildren, and two brothers are left to mourn the loss of one so dear to them.
Mrs Farnsworth became a Christian at an early age and lived a true Christian life. The world, up to this time, has not produced a better wife or mother.
RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT
Whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to take from our midst, by death, the much beloved wife of our worthy brother, H W Farnsworth, and whereas, by her death, Brother Farnsworth lost a true and affectionate companion, her children, a kind and loving mother, and our town and community, a good neighbor and respected citizen. While we deplore the loss, we must bow in humble submission to the will of He who doeth all things well and feel that our loss is Heaven’s gain.
