Sarah Sellers was born in 1840 in Buckeye, Kentucky and was the third of four children born to John Sellers and Polly (Beaumont) Sellers. She was a sister to brothers William Sellers, Herod Sellers and James Sellers. Sarah was only eight when her mother died in 1848 and twelve when her father died in 1852. She was then raised by her father's mother Nancy (Alverson). On April 16, 1858 she married Robert H. Storms of Garrard County, Kentucky at her grandmother Nancy's home. Sarah and Robert later moved to Center Point, Texas bringing along younger brother James Sellers who became a Texas Ranger. Sarah and Robert had four children: John Randolph Storms (1860), William C. Storms (1866), Virgil Storms (1877) and Orra (Burney) (1882). Husband Robert, brother James and children Virgil and Orra are all buried in Center Point Cemetery.
