MATTHEWS DIED: In Fayetteville, this county, Friday morning, Jan. 29th, congestion of the lungs, Mrs. Mary L. Matthews, aged 75 years. Mrs. Matthews was one of the first settlers in Johnson county, having immigrated from Virginia in 1844. She was sister of the late William Lemmon. She was buried in the Liberty Cemetery, Monday, February 1st.
