Mattie N. Berry, 83, of Raymond, retired homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1993, of heart failure at Jackson Methodist Medical Center in Jackson. Services were 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, 1993, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with burial in New Hebron Cemetery in Lawrence County. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee handled the arrangements. Mrs. Berry was a native of Simpson County. She was a member of Jackson Revival Center.

Survivors include two sons, James L. Miller, Sr. and Sam A. Miller, both of Magee; daughter, Mary C. McGowan of Raymond; four sisters, Ida Rushing of Crystal Springs, Emma Sumrall of Jackson, Pearlie Dunaway of Greensburg, La., J. D. Prestage of Morton; 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, 5 step great, great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
