June 4, 1880 he was united in marriage to Frances Josephine Thurmond, daughter of Mr and Mrs WW Thurmond of Sullivan, MO. To this union 11 children were born; 5 of whom have preceded him in death, and 6 of whom survive, and were at his bedside at his departure, namely: William of Shirley; Elmer of St Louis; Agania Vieten of Leslie; Lucille Blexrude of Chicago, Ill; Carrie Tabor of St Louis; and Della Hunt of Buckingham, Ill; 25 grandchildren, 5 of whom, at the present, are serving in the US forces, namely: Raymond Lemanble; Cllifton Manion, Walter, Manion, Elmer Manion, and Jack Mahaffey. He also leaves 14 great grandchildren. The Rev Manion united with the Baptist church in 1910 and he lived a devoted Christian life, serving and ministering the Gospel. He was well known and loved by all who knew him, being always ready to lend a hand to the needy. He began his Christian work at the little Cave Spring Church as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. The Rev and Mrs Manion spent many years in this church, and their most interest was among the children here, many of whom were let to the Lord by their faithful and good work. Mrs Manion was called to her reward October 22, 1929. November 2, 1930 the Rev Manion was united in marriage to Mrs Emma Stevenson of St Louis who was faithful and did all that could be done to make him comfortable in his days and with the children was at his beside till the last.
