VIET-KILLED GI NATIVE OF BAKERSFIELD.
Delano - Another Gold Star mother has been added to Kern County's list from Vietnam. Private First Class Baldamero Arturo Nadal, 21, of Delano, has been listed officially as a fatality by the Defense Department.
A notification received by the soldier's mother, of Delano, says Private Nadal was killed by hostile small arms fire while on ambush patrol in Vietnam on April 15. He had been on active Viet duty since December, 1966.
The serviceman, born in Bakersfield on Jan. 26, 1946, had resided in Delano most of his life. He attended area schools prior to entering the service.
Services are pending in the Delano Mortuary.

NADAL, PFS. Baldamero A. - A rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. in the Delano Mortuary chapel for Pfc. Baldamero A. Nadal, 21, 1938 Belmont Street, Delano, killed by enemy action in Vietnam. Mass will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 in the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with Rev. Francis X. Alabart officiating.
Military graveside rites will be observed in the Delano-McFarland Cemetery. The soldier was born in Bakersfield Jan. 26, 1946, and had resided in the Delano area most of his life.
