The son of my ancestor, Lieut. JOHN & MARY (WOODING) SACKETT, he married (1) Elizabeth Todd, daughter of Samuel & Susanna (Tuttle) Todd, on December 11, 1728, (2) Lydia Heaton, daughter of Seth & Hannah (Todd) Heaton before 1745, and (3) Hannah (Russell) Pierpont, daughter of Rev. Noahdiah Russell and widow of Joseph Pierpont, on August 5, 1751 in New Haven.

He was appointed Lieutenant in 1736 and Captain of the 5th Company or Trainband of New Haven in 1754. In 1748/9, 1758 to 1776, he was Justice of the Peace. He was a deacon of the New Haven Church.
Along with other settlers, he was authorized to form a company to build and maintain a bridge across the New Haven East River in 1759.
