Claudia ("Claudie") Victoria Reese

Arthur was married on Jan. 1, 1920,
to Nola E. Mullikin, the daughter of
John Franklin Mullikin
(commonly known as "Frank" Mullikin)
(Nov. 1, 1878 - Jan. 17, 1967),
and his wife Mary Catherine Walters
(Oct. 27, 1878 - Feb. 20, 1964),
who were married on Sept. 4, 1898,
in Nineveh, Johnson County Indiana.

Wedding of Dragoo/Mullikin.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank [and Mary] Mullikin
hosted the wedding ceremony
of Arthur Dragoo,
son of Mrs. Claudia Dragoo Poor, to
their daughter, Nola E. Mullikin,
Thursday evening, the wedding taking
place at the bride's home.
The wedding was solemnized in the
presence of about one hundred and
fifty relatives and friends. Rev.
E. S. Conner, former pastor of the
Pisgah Christian church, officiating.
The home was beautifully decorated in
pink and white, while the bridal arch
was of greenery. A program of music
was rendered by Miss Zella Walters,
cousin of the bride, and Ralph Pritchard
sang "O Promise Me." Following the
ceremonies, refreshments were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Dragoo left immediately
on their wedding trip to Kentucky.
Upon their return, they will go to
housekeeping on the farm of Asbury
Henderson, north of Pisgah.

2. Dr. John Robert Dragoo.
General Family Practice,
in Wabash, Indiana.
Dr. Dragoo was named a
"Distinguished Citizen," by the
City of Wabash, Indiana in 1996.
John "Hap" Dragoo graduated from
Indiana University School of Medicine,
interned in Orange County, CA, and
set up general practice of medicine
in Wabash, IN in 1961.
He was awarded the highest honor in
Masonry, the Scottish Rite 33rd Degree,
and was Potentate of Mizpah Shrine
in Ft. Wayne, IN.
He married Indiana University sweetheart
and graduate, Jane Hinkle Dye.
They had two children: Mary, and Arthur.

m. # 1. Paul E. "Sug" Wells, in 1955
(of Shelbyville).
She was secretary of PPG industries
for 17 years.
She was also secretary/bookkeeper
for the law firm of Adams & Cremer.
Frieda was a member of
Naamah Chapter # 73, of the Eastern Star.
m. # 2. Robert F. Hensley.

Aurthur served for a short time
in the army in WWI.
He was drafted into the army
about June 5, 1917.
He later became ill with pneumonia
and was officially discharged.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. "Pop" Dragoo,
106 McKenzie St., will
celebrate their fiftieth wedding
anniversary with an open house
Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at
the Holiday Inn in Shelbyville.
The couple was married in the home
of the bride's parents near Franklin
[IN] Jan. 1, 1920. Mr. Dragoo recently
retired from the Hardin Oil Co.
Following the incorporation of
their home into the Camp Atterbury
cantonment area, Mr. Dragoo was
owner-operator of the
Shelbyville-Camp Atterbury bus
line. He is a veteran of World War I.
Mrs. Dragoo has been active in teaching
of arts and crafts.
Hosts for the open house are the
couple's children, Mrs. Morris
[Betty Jane] Drybread of Nineveh,
Dr. John R. Dragoo of Wabash, [IN],
and Mrs. Paul [Frieda June] Wells,
of Shelbyville. They have five
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
It is requested that gifts be omitted.

Artur R. Dragoo 1874-1973, and

born and raised in Johnson County IN,
married in 1920 at the home of Frank
and Mary Mullikin.
Arthur "Pop" Dragoo moved his family
when Camp Atterbury was built, and they
were forced to move from their farm, to
Greenwood, IN, and then to Shelbyville
in 1944, where he owned and operated
the Shelbyville - Atterbury Bus Line,
and the Dragoo Bus Line, in Franklin, IN.
Arthur served his country in World War I.
After the demise of the bus line, he
worked for the Hardin Oil Company,
until he retired.
Nola, a homemaker, was active in
home demonstration clubs, where she
taught the art of basket weaving.
They were members of the
First United Methodist Church.
