Minnie was the daughter of Newitt M Martin and Sellie Elizabeth Jones. She was the wife of Sam Cox. She and Sam were married on October 14, 1916 in Union County, Arkansas. Minnie and Sam had the following children: Willie Clyde, Clifford and Lillian Cox.

Bastrop (Special) - Final rites will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Minnie Ada Cox Johnson, 60, at Liberty Church near Spearsville, with the Rev. Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery by Blackwell Golden.
She died in a Shreveport hospital Saturday after a short illness. A native of Minden she had lived in Bastrop for several years.
Surviving are two sons, W.C., Bastrop, and Clifford, Chicago, Ill.: A daughter Mrs. Lillian Yocha, San Francisco, Calif., three brothers, Newt Martin Minden; Zach Martin, Newellton, and Jewel Martin, Rayville, three sister, Mrs. Carrie Williams and Mrs. Martha Gray, both of Minden, and Mrs. Molly Yossett, Monroe, and eight grandchildren.
