Dear Find-a-Grave Contributor:

I am currently transcribing the admission records for all patients who died at Western State Hospital in Staunton, VA between the years 1828 and 1915. These records were obtained from the Library of Virginia in Richmond.

Approximately 60% of the patients who died there were buried at one of the two
cemeteries maintained by Western State Hospital. The remaining 40% were interred elsewhere by their families. I believe the person shown below who died at Western State could be the same person honored in your memorial on Find-a-Grave.

Following is a transcript of that admission record. If, after reviewing the transcript, you agree that this is the same person, feel free to post the entire transcript into the bio section of the memorial or extract and post any information that you feel is appropriate.

If you have a special interest in this person or are a relative, I'll be happy to send you the original JPG images of the admission record pages. Just email back and I will forward them to you.
