Timothy Carl Mordecai, 22, of Collinsville was dead on arrival at a Decatur hospital; after inhaling toxic fumes while servicing an oil well near Decatur Saturday. Funeral was held today at Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro with burial in Belew Cemetery. Mordecai was born 22 Feb 1957 at Escondido, CA, son of Leon and Patricia Mordecai. He married Deana I. McCulley 21 Mar 1977 in Gainesville, Cooke County, TX. He was 20 and she was 17. He attended Miller Memorial Baptist Church in Collinsville. He was a graduate of Collinsville schools, where he was active in sports. Survivors include his wife Deana, one son, Clint Wayne, Collinsville, parents Mr. & Mrs. Leon Mordecai, two brothers John Leon and Ted, one sister Mrs. Andrea Haley, Collinsville, and grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ted Shimp, Oceanside, CA and Mrs. Cloe Mordecai, Cleburne, TX.
