Jacob Felps, fourth child of Brittain and Susanne (Waggoner) Felps. He was born in Rowan County, North Carolina. He married Catherine R. "Katie" Davidson in about 1828 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He moved in about 1852 to the Miller Creek area (first a part of Hays Co, then Blanco Co. Texas). He was a land owner and rancher. In 1862 his youngest daughter died and he buried her on his own place. He donated one acres around where she was buried. This was the beginning of the Miller Creek Cemetery.
