PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Elizabeth "Betty" L. (Littleton) Allen, 83, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and former Anderson and Pendleton resident, died July 17, 2009, at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, Port Charlotte, Fla.

She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Head of Island, La., to the late James Robert and Celestine (Hoover) Littleton.

Betty retired from Delco Remy in 1981 following 30 years service.

She was a 1943 graduate of Pendleton High School.

She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662, Anderson, and Women of the Moose Lodge, Punta Gorda.

Survivors include her son, David (wife, Erika) Allen of Fortville; grandson, Erik Allen of Fortville; companion of 15 years, Pete Sposet of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and cousins, Gerald and Mary Mayberry of Punta Gorda, Fla.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with the Rev. John Hackney officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. today at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. (Central Time) Thursday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Mounds, Ill.
