Deceased was born in Bavaria May 9, 1811, and came to Cincinnati about 1852. He resided there but a short time removing to Petersburg, Ky., and thence to this city in 1854 or 55.
He was twice married, both companions having preceded him to the grave. There survive him, of his immediate family, six children, John of Cincinnati, Mrs. Joseph Klein and Frank of this city, Mrs. Charles Stricker, Piqua, O., Mrs. Harry Herrick, Hamilton, Ohio, and Miss Rosa of Diamond, Ind. Deceased was for 70 years engaged in the cooperage business. He was always active even up to within a short time previous to his death although in his 98th year. He was seriously ill for only one week.
