Grace A. Lebegern Hoefel
Grace A. Lebegern Hoefel, 100, formerly of Ocean Ave., Lancaster, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at Luther Acres, Lititz. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late J. William and Anna May Morris Lebegern. She was the wife of the late William F. Hoefel who died in 1985. They had celebrated over 50 years of marriage.
Grace worked at Hagers Department Store for 24 years. She had also worked as a jewel setter for Hamilton Watch Co. She loved people and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lancaster where she had served for 30 years on the Altar Guild. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, Alta White Shrine, and Cedarettes. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, and crocheting.
She is survived by: a daughter, Joan H. wife of Robert G. Walton of Lancaster; 3 grandchildren, W. Mark husband of Joyce Derr Walton, Matthew R. husband of Kevia Martin Walton, and Annelisa wife of Ed Aubry; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Thelma Wiley of Landisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Rd., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM with interment following in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:00 AM at the church on Wednesday.
