Dorothy Sherlin Frazier, 83, of Cleveland, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, in an Athens health care facility.
She was a charter member of Prospect Church of God and was a well known Southern Gospel singer, singing with the "Victory Five" and other Christian groups. She was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and was preceded in death by her husband, T.L. Frazier; one son, Stacy Frazier; her parents, Robert R. Sherlin and Maude Ogle Sherlin; and one brother, Jay Sherlin.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Tamera Frazier of Cleveland, Dr. Mike and Kathy Frazier of Riceville, and Roger and Donna Frazier of Knoxville; grandchildren and their spouses, Eddie and Buffy Frazier, Heath and Staci Frazier, Ryne and Beth Frazier, Justin Frazier, Leah Frazier, Brandon Frazier and Barrett Frazier; great-grandchildren, Halle Frazier, Reese Frazier, Drake Frazier, Addie Frazier, Maddox Frazier, Nash Frazier and Kinsley Frazier; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Linda Sherlin of Gallatin, D.A. and Mary Jo Sherlin, Roy and Alice Sherlin and Boog and Joyce Sherlin, all of Cleveland, and the Rev. Mervin and Betty Sherlin of Ridge Manor, Fla.; a special uncle, Claude Ogle; one sister-in-law, Lois Sherlin of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Dr. Ralph Jenkins and the Rev. Oran Creasman officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Fort Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mervin Sherlin officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and a white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
