He was a militiaman in the Virginia service and received Treasurer's warrant # 13839 for 719 1/2 acres of land on grants for "service in the Armed Forces during the Revolutionary War." Info found on file at Clerks office, Jefferson Co., KY dated July 29, 1784: Old Kentucky Entries and Deeds, by Jillison, Book A, page 375. He married Elizabeth Campbell and they had 11 children.
