BRAINTREE Alfred J. O'Connor, of Braintree formerly of South Boston passed away at the age of 80, July 19, 2009. Beloved husband of Jean M. (Cleary) O'Connor. Loving father of Stephen J. O'Connor and his wife Mary of Norton, Gerald M. O'Connor and his wife Maureen of Braintree, Alfred L. O'Connor and his wife Judy of Plymouth, Joseph M. O'Connor and his wife Bernadette of Hanover, Jean M. Ancheta and her husband David of Ft. Worth, TX, Joan M. Dawson and her husband Steven of Grand Prairie, TX, Noreen Geran and her husband Edward of Braintree, and Mary Ellen O'Connor of Roslindale. Devoted brother of John Sonny O'Connor of Dorchester, the late Evelyn O'Connor and Dorothy McKenna. Also survived by 17 grandchildren. Mr. OConnor was born in Boston and grew up in So. Boston where he lived before moving to Braintree over 40 years ago. He was a retired electrician for AMTRAK Railroad formerly Penn Central and New Haven Railroad. He worked a total of about 40 years for the railroad. He was a WWII and Korean Conflict, U.S. Navy Veteran. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree until 9 AM Thursday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 PM Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
