Was born the fourth child of Walter Edward Briggs and Lena Mae Briggs Feb 18,1916.At the age the nine years old he lost his mother.At the age of fifteen he lost his father.He was able at that time still live on his folks homestead on Linehart Rd.Today it has went back to state ground.I am not sure how long before he and his brother and to moved out of the home he grew up in.But was able go live with his sister's Della and Gladys in a house in the little town of Fitchburg,Michigan.From there him and his brother found jobs either being a farm hand or working in a landry.It wasn't until that he was older that he meet his wife to be by accident.He first knew of here since both families lived in the same area of Bunkerhill Township.But it wasn't until in the town of Holt while he was working on his wife-to-be Aunt and Uncle television that he first asked her out for a date.From that day on they would date for the next two years.During that time period was the years of the World War ll for medical reason he wasn't able to fight in the war like his brothr Edward who at this time was fighting in the Europe Campaign.But did work in a Drop Forge in the city Of Lansing Michigan that was doing war effort there.Lets just my father was a proud man believe his children to have a education by this I mean finishing high school.He was always working during the time of his retired from Construction.He was heard being said when did he have time for work when he had always work around the house.
