SMITH FUNERAL TO BE IN CLEVELAND, TN ON TUESDAY

The funeral of William Pruden Smith, well known Jacksonville attorney and former mayor of Miami, who died yesterday in an Atlanta hospital, will be held Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland, Tenn., at the home of his parents.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, the former Miss May Garner, daughter of the late Capt. C. E. Garner, and former president of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, and two children, William Jr. and Katherine.

Mr. Smith was born in Dalton, Ga., March 4, 1876, the son of John Lee Smith, of Cleveland, Tenn. He was reared in Charleston, Tenn. He graduated from the state university in 1898 and for one year was connected with the law department of the Southern Railway at Washington, D.C. He came to Jacksonville in 1900, and was a member of the law firm of W.B. Owen and later with Kay, Doggert and Smith. Mr. Smith moved to Miami in 1912 and become one of the organizers of the firm of Shutts, Smith, and Bowen.
