Barbara Ann Allnutt, 43, resident of Montgomery County, widow of James N. Allnutt; states he volunteered in Montgomery County around 1 Aug 1814; engaged in Battle of Bladensburg, not in actual service after the retreat from said battle, he being wholly disabled there from by disease contracted in said service which disability continued until after his company was discharged;

They married 4 Dec 1832 by Rev William Gilmore, Baptist minister; her former name was Barbara Ann Dawson;

James N. Allnutt died in Montgomery County 1 Jun 1854; acq: Joseph N. Dawson, 59, brother of Barbara Ann Allnutt, and Benoni Allnutt, 69, residents of Montgomery County, both have always lived on farms and adjoining the farm on which James Allnutt was born, raised, lived; and owned and occupied at the time of his death. Both were also Privates in company of which James N. Allnutt was a Sargeant. After retreat from Battle of Bladensburg to Rockville, James N. Allnutt was brought to his father's farm sick of disease.

Testimony of William Brewer, doctor of medicine, 77, resident of Montgomery County; states he was family physician of James Allnutt, father of James N. Allnutt. On 28 Aug 1814 he was called to visit James N. Allnutt who was brought home after the Battle of Bladensburg sick of disease.
