Eddie Elmer Bailey, 53, of 3 Darcus Lane died Saturday March 17 at the Hospice Solace Center after a brief illness. A native of Madison County, he had lived most of his life in Buncombe County. He was a son of the late Laney Mitchell Bailey and Estella Jones Bailey and was also prededed in death by a daughter.

Surviving are his son James Edward Bailey and wife Virginia of Waynesville; sisters, Mary Virginia Hannah of Woodruff, S.C., Bromia Teague and Ruth Buckner both of Leicester and Reva Ball of Marshall; brothers, Bill Bailey of Southgate MI, Roy Bailey and Jack Bailey both of Weaverville and Wayne Bailey of Candler.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Anderson Coffey officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be ade to Mt. Area Hospice, P.O. Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
