Funeral services for William Aubrey Beyers, 86, retired Stephens County rancher and farmer, were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Satterwhite Chapel of Grace. Rev. Claude Harris of Irving and Rev. Jesse Fambro of Breckenridge officiated with burial in the Wayland Cemetery south of Breckenridge. Mr. Beyers died at 7 p.m. Sunday in Stephens Memorial Hospital. Born May 4, 1887 in Hawley, he married Maggie Ridley in 1906 in Breckenridge. She died in 1930 and he married Esta Swift Oct. 27, 1945 in Breckenridge. He farmed and ranched in the southweastern part of the county until moving into Breckenridge in 1957. Mr. Beyers was a member of the Necessity Baptist Church and a former member of the Wayland IOOF Lodge. Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Reid of Abilene and Mrs. Doris Perry of Garland; a son, W.A. Jr. of Andrews; a brother, John of Seymour; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Fambro of Breckenridge; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Mrs. Harry A. Jackson of Sierre Madre, Calif. A daughter, Dora Bell Perry died in 1930. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
