"DEATH OF MRS. BEGGS, Mrs. America Fair Beggs, widow of the late Capt. Charles Beggs, died at the home of her son, C. F. Beggs, in this county last Friday about noon. Mrs. Beggs was ill only a short while, other than the infirmities of age, she being 88 years old at the time of death.
Mrs. Beggs was born in Abbeville, S.C., in 1829, and came to this county, settling at the Fair Place, where Mr. Lamar Moore lives now. When a young woman, she was married to Mr. Charles Beggs, who died twenty-four years ago. She had lived practically all her life in this county, enjoying the love and respect of all who knew her. Mrs. Beggs leaves one son, C. F. Beggs, and two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Pillans of Electra, Fla., and Mrs. E. S. Armstrong, besides a number of grand children, great children and other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The body was laid to rest at Oakland cemetery, of which church the deceased was a member, Saturday afternoon. Rev. W. S. Patterson conducting the services."
