William A. "Woody" Tucker, 80, of Springfield, formerly of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, in St. John's Hospital. He was born in Crane on February 26, 1929. Woody graduated from Crane High School in 1947, and the University of Missouri in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force. After a year of service he married Joan Johnson. He retired in 1991 after 16 years as an electrical inspector for the City of Springfield. In 1992, in Bolivar, Woody married Georgia (Barner) Tucker. He enjoyed working on cars with his son, Randy, working on lawnmowers, and his biggest love was Corvettes. He was preceded in death by his father, Porter Tucker; mother Jewell Tucker; wife Joan Tucker; aunt Mabel Stahl; and uncle Harold Stahl. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Tucker; daughter Gina and husband, Steve; son Randy and wife, Melvina; step-son Michael and wife, Heather; step-daughter Donna; grandchildren, Blake and Peyton; and step-grandchildren, Lacy, Tara, Krista, Caleb and Nathanial; great-grandchildren, Keely and Bella; cousin Jo Boehms; and "Wag" and Carol Wagaman. Woody is also survived by Georgia's grandchildren, Christopher, Clayton, Carrie, Kelsey and Jason. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will be in Crane Cemetery.
