Son of Franz Johannes Michel ans Josephine Ida Oestmann.

Husband to Luveda Eda Stoltenberg, daughter of Emil Nicholas Stoltenberg and Sophia Marie Amelia Hahn.

OBITUARY:

Arthur Ferdinand Ernest Michel, son of Franz and Ida Josephine Oestmann Michel, was born July 4, 1908 south of Rohrs, Ne.

One of six children, Art was baptized at St. Paul Hickory Grove Lutheran Church and confirmed in thes same church on April 9, 1922. He received his education at Hickory Grove Rock School.

Art was married to Luveda Stoltenberg on Dec. 6, 1933 at her home near Graf, Ne. Three children were born to this marriage.

Soon after their marriage, Art transferred his membership to Zion Lutheran church, where he served on the church board and was a treasurer of Lutheran Brotherhood.

Art and Luveda farmed in Johnson and Nemaha counties until 1953, when they moved to Auburn,Ne. Prior to retirement , Art worked as a carpenter and in area lumberyards. He did wood-working projects and "odd jobs" until his health started failing six years ago.

He entered Nemaha County Hospital on Nov. 7, 1990, having reached the age of 82 years, four months and 22 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Luveda Michel of Auburn; three children. Mervin of Houston, TX., Mrs. Elta Mae Wilkinson of Yadkinville, N.C., and Marilyn Foster of Hancock, MN. nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;one brother, Emil Micel of Colorad Springs, CO; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Bohling of Auburn, Helen Bohling of Johnson, Ida Kuhlmann of Auburn and Rosine Kuhlmann of Beatrice, NE. other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Nov. 30 at Zion Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Wayne Josephson.

Pallbearers were Jack Michel, Arvin Michel, Norman Bohing, Lonnie Bohling, Dewayne Kuhlmann and Merle Kuhlmann.

Gertrude Rosenbohm was organist.

Burial was in the church cemetery, north of Johnson, NE.
