HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, September 2, 2008, Mr. Ronald R. "Ron" Cliett, 73, husband of Barbara Hall Cliett. Mr. Cliett was a native and life long resident of the Augusta-Hephzibah area. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from Westinghouse, Savannah River Plant. Mr. Cliett was a member of Hephzibah Southern Methodist Church where he was a teacher for the Barton Bible Class. Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Eric Kelvin Cliett and girlfriend Cathy Dunning of Edgefield, SC, Keith Reid Cliett and his wife Ruth of Mojave, CA; daughter: Shannon M. Self of Hephzibah; stepsons: Gary Melton and wife Sherri of Martinez, Joe Wood and wife Thersa of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughters: Mary Alice Randall and husband Sid of Edgefield, SC, Maxine McCleese and husband Tim of Greenwood, SC; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, September 5, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Glen Blank and Rev. Bob Matthews officiating. Pallbearers were Gary Melton, Ashley Melton, Chase Cliett, Eric Sapp, Joe Wood and Sid Randall. Interment followed in Westover Memorial Park. Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors
