Mr. Burkhalter died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at his home, 4301 Olson.
He had been a resident of Amarillo 45 years. He was born March 26, 1887, in Mexia, Tex. He was active in the insurance business until three months ago when he suffered a stroke.
Mr. Burkhalter formerly was associated with the old National Bank of Commerce here.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Men's Bible Class. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Gene, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Kelly and Mrs. Jack D. Watson, both of Dallas; a brother, Frank E. Burkhalter and a sister, Miss Ina Burkhalter, both of Waco; and five grandchildren.

Gravesite Details
Both his obituary and death certificate state that he was interred in the Llano Mausoleum. His wife Gene died 27 yrs. later. Either she had his remains moved to be next to her in Restland Memorial or she added his vitals so they could be 'together'.
