Dorothy J. Almquist, 86, Moline, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services will be 11 am Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline Visitation will be from 9 am to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or Bethany for Children and Families.
Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline, is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy J. Hensley was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Rock Island, the daughter of Thomas Casper and Alta J. Hoppe Hensley. She married Paul Oscar Almquist Nov. 30, 1940, in Moline.
She was a graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island, and Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing.
She was employed as a nurse for Dr. Samuel Brown.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Evergreen Club of the church, Clara Lodge 118-IOV, Short Hills Country Club and AARP, a 50-year member of Johanna Circle of King's Daughters, and past president of Calvin Coolidge PTA.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jack Crabtree, Ypsilanti, Mich.; grandchildren, Jason Crabtree, Troy, Mich., and Kristan Crabtree, Ypsilanti; a sister-in-law, Helen Hensley, Rock Island, and a nephew, Dennis Hensley, Rockford. She was preceded in death by a brother, James, and her parents.
