He was employed by the State of Maine Dept. of Transportation building and repairing bridges for nearly 40 years. He worked in the Calais, Fort Kent, Jackman, Stratton and coastal areas. Laurel was a gardener and avid fisherman who loved the great outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Williams) Furrow of Sidney; three daughters and husbands, Barbara & Philip Corbett of Augusta, Beatrice & Ralph Palmer of Florida, Betty & Robert Blake of Virginia; stepdaughter, Fern Parsons of Unity; one sister, Lillian Austin of Vassalboro; one sister-in-law, Coral Furrow of Knox; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Gilchrist) Furrow; one daughter, Beverly Hunter; one stepson, Ronald Furrow; five brothers, Gordon, Russell, Donald, J. Burns and Walter Furrow; one grandson, Jay Palmer.
