Harry J. Ekis.
Funeral services will be held in this city Wednesday afernoon for Harry J. Ekis, 81, a former Smicksburg R. D. 1 resident, who died Sunday in the home of a daughter in Atlantic, Pa. Mr. Ekis was born in Jefferson County February 25, 1883, a son of Henry F. and Sarah Ellen (Bachtel) Ekis and was married to Velma Nichol, who died April 16, 1962.
A retired lumberman, he resided in Smicksburg until 1961.
Surviving are three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Pansy Cornman, with whom he resided, and Frank Ekis, both of Atlantic, Pa.; Roy Ekis of Smicksburg; Mrs. Margaret Fulmer, of Indiana R. D. 1; Mrs. Dorothy Kellerman, of Foster, R. I, and Harry J. Ekis, Jr., of Armagh.
He leaves also 30 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Miller of East Brady.
Friends will be received after 7 o`clock tonight in the Schenkemeyer Funeral Home here where services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o`clock. The Rev. George C. Culp will officate and interment will be in Smicksburg Cemetery.
