William A. Phillips of Springville, IN, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at his residence. Born on June 26, 1943, he was the son of Lee and Ottie Phillips. He married Virginia Broome on March 18. 1966, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons: Jerome Hettle and wife, Debbie, and Wesley Phillips and wife, Tina; one daughter, Lisa Hillenburg and husband, Robin; three brothers: Wendell Phillips and wife, Joyce, Boyd Phillips and wife, Mary, and Danny Phillips and wife, Connie; three sisters: Loretta Keseric, Joyce Godsey and husband, Alfred, and Zella Keithley and husband, Mitchell; six grandchildren: Colin Crose, Carla Hettle, Darren and Daniel Phillips, Dawn and Chad Hillenburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Mossie Martin and Evalee Phillips, and one brother, Hobart Phillips.

He worked in the limestone quarries. He worked for the past twenty-two years for Stan Armstrong Cattle Farm in Springville, IN.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford, IN, with Brother Wendell Phillips and Brother Alan Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville West Cemetery.
