BURLINGTON - Elaine Daughters, 77, of Burlington, formerly of Keokuk, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
She was born May 6, 1923, the daughter of Earl and Emma Buell Moore. She married Carl S. Daughters on May 7, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1979.
Survivors include: a son, Curtis Daughters and his wife, Jana, of Burlington; a daughter, Carol Daughters of Burlington; four grandchildren, Tim, Todd, Tara and Jessica Daughters; a brother, Clarence Moore of Keokuk; a sister, Grace Schevers of Keokuk; and a former daughter-in-law, Linda Daughters of Hamilton, Ill.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Delbert Wayne Daughters and Ronald Lee Daughters; her parents; three brothers, Cephas, Glenn and Elmer Moore; and a sister, Hazel Stockwell.
She had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for several years.
In 1992 she moved to Burlington.
Mrs. Daughters loved yard work and spent many hours in her garden taking care of her flowers.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and treasured the moments she spent with her family.
Mrs. Daughters was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Burlington.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with Pastor Charles Stevens officiating.
Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. Wednesday with family meeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Riverside Baptist Church of Burlington.
