Geo. W. Ashlock was born March 20th, 1832, in Nelson county, Ky., and departed this life May 17th, 1924. In the year 1860, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucetta Seward and to this union twelve children were born, nine of whom are living, three having died in infancy. Mr. Ashlock is survived by his wife and the following named children: John, Jasper, David, William, Mrs. C.W. good, Mrs. Jake Smith, Mrs. J.L. Long and John Mills. There are also 26 granchildren and 16 great grandchildren. William was the only child living at home at the time of his father's death, and he was their mainstay.

Geo. W. Ashlock was permitted to live a good, long life, 93 years of joys mixed, no doubt, with many sorrows and hardships, which were shared by his aged companion for 64 years, but at last death called at his door, and he passed out into the great beyond from which no traveler returns.

A short service was held at the residence at 11 o'clock Sunday, May 18th, conducted by Rev. A.L. Christian, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near his home.
