Mrs. Rosie Botkin Died Thursday, Nov 23 - Funeral Sunday
Mrs. Rosie Botkin, 78, died in St. Joseph's hospital, Bloomington, Thursday, Nov. 23, at 7:45 p.m. She had been in declining health for some time.
She was born Sept. 30, 1872, in Monterey, Va., daughter of John and Anna Beverage. She married John Botkin March 19, 1896. He preceded her in death in 1922.
Mrs. Botkin is survived by two children, Mrs. Edith Haworth and Forrest Botkin, both of Lexington; one half brother, Owen Beverage, of Monterey, Va., five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Botkin was a faithful member of the Methodist church where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The pastor, the Rev. Walter Teesdale, officiated. Mrs. W.A. McCully and Mrs. Harold Brown sang, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Lloyd Werth.
Pallbearers were Henry Lindenbaum, Emile Rediger, Harold Brown, Everett Brown, Walter Stoutamoyer and Glenard Boyd.
Burial was in the Lexington cemetery.
