Sarah Grizzle married William Johnston on Nov 17, 1809.

Quoting a book by Glenn Thompson Gordy titled "Come Walk with Me," recording her life and relations in Kemper County, Mississippi, Ms. Gordy describes the elder Grizzle: "He [Joel Grizzle, Sr.] served in the American Revolution from 1775, becoming a sergeant in the Virginia Continental Army, Company G, 3rd and 4th Virginia Regiments until December 5, 1783. He was granted lands in Amelia County, Virginia. In 1810 he removed to Franklin County, Georgia. In 1820-21 he moved to Greene County, Alabama, where he died in 1832, leaving 720 acres of land in Greene County..." (213). Note that there is a discrepancy in the date of death given by other researchers and Ms. Gordy.
