Ruth N. Mock, 71, of Dryden, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000 at her home.

She was born Feb. 17, 1928 in Kennewick to John N. and Bertha (Barnes) Brisky. In her early years, she moved with her family to Cashmere, attending Cashmere schools. She was a nanny during her high school years in Wenatchee, graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1948. After graduation, she attended and graduated from nursing school in Seattle.

On Jan. 22, 1955, she married John C. Mock in Wenatchee and they made their home in Morocco. In March of 1958, they moved to Chico, CA where she was a housewife. Her husband died in August of 1958. They moved to Wenatchee in December 1958, where she worked in the fruit warehouse. In June of 1967, she updated her LPN degree and worked in various healthcare facilities. In the spring of 1984, she moved to Ellensburg where she volunteered at RSVP and Kittitas Community Hospital. She was employed as a nurse and worked for the Forest Service in Ellensburg, retiring in July of 1992. She then moved back to the Wenatchee valley.

She enjoyed camping, picnicking, crafts and had a great sense of humor and loved her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Chestnut Street Baptist Church in Ellensburg, where she started the library. She was also a member of the Wenatchee Church of God Faith of Abraham.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lillie Romero and her partner, Rhonda Myers of Cashmere and Peggy Reyes and her husband, J. David of East Wenatchee; two sisters, Beulah and her husband, Floyd Barnhill and Alta and her husband, John Rose, both of Wenatchee; six grandchildren, Monolo and Michael Reyes of Portland, OR, Humberto and Karen Romero of Kent, Erica and Oscar Mendoza of East Wenatchee and Abril Reyes of East Wenatchee; three great-grandchildren, Michelle and Oscar Mendoza of East Wenatchee and Alyssa Pearson-Romero of Kent.

Services of commemoration will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 at Wenatchee City Cemetery with Pastors Frank Johnson and Kirby Davis officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Services are under the care of Betts Funeral Service.
