Mrs. Sorrell was born in Boston, KY and was a graduate of Boston High School. She was a former employee of Key Market where she worked for 27 years. She was a member of Bardstown Baptist Church and Sunday School, and a former member of the First Cedar Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 20 years, worked in Vacation Bible School, and served on special committees. Jetta enjoyed bridge and travel, visiting all states in the continental U.S., Europe and the Holy Land.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James "Diddle" Sorrell, her parents, Harlan and Mattie Bean, 2 brothers, Ivo and Sedwick Bean, and 1 sister, Mozelle Strickler.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Carole Pardue (Ralph Eddie), Sandra Coulter (Donald) and Connie Sorrell, all of Louisville, 1 granddaughter, Tonya Williams (Matt), and 1 great granddaughter, Lily Abigail Williams, both of Louisville.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Bardstown Baptist Church with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. Visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday and then after 8:30 am Thursday at the Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the donor's favorite children's charity.
