He married Alda Masters on April 29, 1908 in Bert, a small town in Tyler County, WV. The couple started out farming. After a few years, they moved to Newell, WV, where Charles began a long career working for the Homer Laughlin China Company, a well known manufacturer of dinnerware.
Charles died of heart failure.
