She was born in Fairbury, Illinois to John H. and Mary Potter Best. She married Keith Vines on Oct. 2, 1937 in Bloomington, Illinois. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard B. Vines and two brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Vines Morris; a son, James K. Vines; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vines was a retired English teacher. She taught for many years in Hoopeston High School. She attended the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. Elizabeth enjoyed doing volunteer work in the church and spending time with her family.
