Killed in the battle of Jonesboro, Ga.

He was also in the Mexican War under Captain William F. Willis, 2nd Kentucky Regiment foot volunteers, Col. Wm McKee commanding Regiment.

He married Nancy E. Hillard, 15 June 1860. She received a Widow's pension. Their two children under the age of 16 received Minor's pensions. Josiah Grant, born 19 May 1861, and George A. Grant (Ann is middle name indicating female), born 20 Nov 1862. They were residents of Washington County, Kentucky. Post office: Mackville(?), Ky. Dicey Hillard, grandmother of the two children gave the alternate birth date of 4 Dec 1863 for Georgi Ann Grant.
