Son of Gen. Edward and Mary (Popock) Godrey. Graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Baltimore, Baltimore, Marland, in 1892. Married Florence M. Hawkins in 1898. They had one son, Russell Godfrey (1901-1953).

Captain, U. S. Army Medical Corps.

Sadly, Captain Godfrey died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, leaving behind a wife and 4-year-old son.
