ALFORD'S parents were JAMES and HATTIE RULE BALL.

He married IDA MELVINA GENTRY OCTOBER 23, 1910 in ANSON, JONES COUNTY,TEXAS.

They had eight children. PAULINE, SAMUEL CAIN , MARY LOU,

JAMES LEWIS , THOMAS GORDON, CHARLES OTHELL, JOHN ALFORD,

and JANIE MAE BALL.

ALFRED BALL 82 DIES AT ANSON

ANSON (RNS) - Alfred (Alf) Ball, 62, died at his home in Anson at 4:30 p.m. Monday following an apparent heart attack. Funeral arrangements are pending with Lawrence Funeral Home.
Born in Grayson County Oct 13, 1866, he moved to the Truby community southwest of Anson
in 1900. He married Ida Gentry Oct. 23, 1910, at Truby. He farmed and was a ginner until moving to Anson in 1923. He continued ginning in various communities until 1943. In 1943 he worked as custodian of the Jones County Courthouse until his retirement in 1965. Survivors include five sons, S.C. of Anson, Capt. James L. of Oxen Hill, Md., Thomas G. of Riverside, Calif, John of Alexandria. Egypt, and Othell of Lockney; two daughters Mrs Reese Barone of Dallas and
Mrs. Sam McLaren of Anson; 18 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
