Born Carl Samuel Bond. First chance he got he enlisted into the army, where 2 yrs. later he received his Honorable Discharge from Troop C, 6th. Calvary in the regular Army and was stationed at Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was injured during his enlistment and lost one of his arms up to the elbow.
In his later years he owned and operated Bond Taxi Service in Abbeville, SC
