Born June 25, 1935, in Bradford, Pa., to Charles and Maude Crain Heasley, she graduated from Bradford High School in 1953, and then graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College in 1957 with a degree in music education.
She married Peter J. Brunner on June 29, 1963 in Smethport, Pa. They lived in Olean, N.Y., where she was an elementary music teacher until her retirement in 1997.
She was a member of the choir at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Olean for many years. She taught knitting classes in the adult education program in Olean and created beautiful sweaters for family and friends. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Nancy and Pete retired to their camp in the Blue Jay area of Forest County, near Sheffield, Pa., where they had been seasonal residents for many years. She enjoyed living in the forest and being close to her granddaughter and "grandpuppies" who lived next door. She bought a handicapaccessible van this summer and spent her last several weeks enjoying outings with her family and friends, and especially appreciated being able to attend Sunday Mass at St. Anthony's.
Nancy is survived by a son, Michael Brunner, a daughter, Sarah Korchak and her husband, Tim, and granddaughter, Tessa, all of Blue Jay. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Audrey Daum, of Williamsport, Pa.; an aunt, Mrs. Alice Snyder, of Duke Center, Pa.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter (June 24, 2008); sisters Luella (Robert) Densmore and Betty (William) Woods; niece Sandra Woods Nuzzo; nephew Kenneth Woods; and greatnephew Eric Behan.
