Debra Louise (Perkins) Broughton, 49, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Rockford, Illinois. She was born on December 31, 1959, in Battle Creek, of David Perkins, Sr. and Lula (Mitchell) Perkins. S
he is survived by daughters, Christina (Anthony) Broughton-Spiller of Jersey City, NJ; and Audrea Broughton of Battle Creek; son, Bruce Broughton, Jr. of Battle Creek. Also surviving are mother, Lula Grimes; brothers, David (Trina) Perkins and Minister Duane (Chitar) Perkins of Battle Creek; William (Sonya) Perkins of Rockford, Illinois; sisters, Elizabeth Perkins of Tampa, Florida; Natasha Clark of Battle Creek; as well as ten step-siblings. She was preceded in death by father, David Perkins, Sr., step-father, Leroy Grimes, as well as step-brother, Carl Grimes. She was previously married to Bruce Broughton, Sr.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Maranatha Original Church of God with Pastor Geraldine T. Richardson officiating.
