W.E. Bearden
W.E. "Dick" Bearden, 79, of Magnolia, formerly of Bastrop, La., died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 [correct date] at the Meadowbrook Lodge Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 17, 1922 in Columbia County to the late Lee Rolland and Lena Jestine Walker Beardern, he was retired from International Paper Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie May Bearden; four brothers, Fred Bearden, Loyde Bearden, Joseph Bearden, and Ray Bearden; three sisters, Beatrice Carr, Gladys Wilson, and Virginia Fomby.
Survivors are his two brothers, John Bearden of Alvorado, Texas and Frank Bearden of Marysville; two sisters, Faye Willis of Beaumont, Texas and Florence White of Magnolia.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop with Zane Gray officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
