Last rites were held at 2pm on Saturday, June 2 at the Wilburn General Baptist church for Ola Payton Stonewalter who passed away in Heber Springs on Wednesday, May 30, 1984 at the age of 82.
The daughter of Lucian and Alice Staggs Payton, she was born at Wilburn on April 20, 1902.
She was preceededin death by her husband, Harry L. Stonewalter.
Mrs. Stonewalter was a member of the Wilburn General Baptist church. She was a homemaker, a dear friend, beloved mother, and highly regarded by all who knew her.
Survivors include one son, H.L. Stonewalter of Wilburn, four daughters, Fern Latch of Heber Springs, Rosalee Roberson of Caruthersville, MO., Awnee Hackworth of Indianapolis, Ind., and Pansy Richardsonof Heber Springs; two brothers, Clarence Payton and Oather Payton, both of Tyler, Ark., two sisters, Hester Gann of Tucson, Ariz., and Vivian Holliman of Anderson, Ind.; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren a host of other relatives and many friends.
Revs. Lloyd Hazelwood and Arvin Bennett officiated at the final tribute.
Interment was in the Magness Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darrell Southerland, O.L. Payton, Lindell Southerland, William Smith, Wayne Garrison and Jessie G. Taylor.
